How We Roll

Our three youngest might have the same golden blond hair and the brightest blue eyes you have ever seen, but that is where the similarities stop! (Aside from sharing the Worlds Coolest Parents..of course)  I can often times find them playing together, attempting to create a game that suits two four year old boys and one five year old girl.  Eventually they will land upon a game that has a female character of some sort and everyone is happy, for a while.  Addy gets to be the princess she desired to be, while the boys are a super hero of some sort or a ninja turtle.  Inevitably, the boys start rough housing and throwing each other around.  They are much, much more aggressive then our dainty Addysen.  She would prefer to have the two ninja warriors sit down for a tea party or pick pretty flowers for mommy!  While they were thinking the princess should be her own stunt double on the trampoline!  It is such a wonderful and peaceful time when the two sides are able to fine common ground and work from there.  Addy sitting under the deck, now a dungeon, awaiting her rescue, and the boys wearing their homemade t-shirt ninja masks with their stick swords rescuing the princess.  Who was obviously in imminent danger according to the cries for help heard throughout the neighborhood!  Thankfully she had two heroes available for the rescue.  I guess they all have quite the active imaginations in common as well, I love that!

Sense of Humor

Parenting in general relies on having a sense of humor.  Otherwise, without laughter we would all go insane!  Now that our youngest two are getting bigger, I am once again reminded how ridiculous a 4 1/2 year olds sense of humor is!  Our boys, although super duper cute, can be super duper annoying!!  They both make sure I am watching every little thing they are doing, trying, and or attempting...whether or not I have seen what they are doing several times before.  I will inevitably hear, "mom, mom, mom, mommy, mommy, hey, hey mom", on and on until I answer.  "Watch this!".  98% of the time they are doing something so stupid I feel like I may have been better off sticking a fork in my eye!  No offense to my boys! :)  I always give them some line of appraisal, which was all they were wanting in the first place.  There are those occasions when they pull off something I never would have imagined a four year old could do.  Most of those times I get 911 ready on speed dial!  I have seen them both do flips on the trampoline, jump from heights that should not be jumped from and climb on top of the shed!  Now, those were the times when they asked me to look after they had already climbed too high or were in mid-flip!  If these are the things that come with boys by age four, I can not fathom what is waiting for us at age fourteen!

Field Trip

Recently the boys got to go on their very first field trip.  We took the school bus to the Museum of Nature and Science, which I love going to.  Brenden and Garhett however, were much more excited for the ride on the bus, it really didn't matter where we were going!  The two of them were so cute, looking out the window watching traffic, finding a few landmarks they recognized (Elitches, Mile High, or for them, where the Broncos play), and talking with other kiddos seated nearby.  Once we got to the museum the weather was terrible, wet and snowy.  The three of us grabbed our paper sack lunches and headed off to see what we could see.  Immediately the boys were overwhelmed with trying to choose what to check out first.  Once a decision was made we found ourselves seated on a bench looking through our lunch bags!  Now, with tummies full we could venture off and get into some low key trouble!  We made our way to the room filled with everything you could ever want to see about outer space.  They both enjoyed looking at models of planets and seeing themselves on the infra-red cameras.  I was hoping to look at the rocks and minerals exhibit, but both boys mentioned how much they liked throwing rocks so I decided against going anywhere near that.  We wound up making our way to the dinosaurs, what four year old doesn't like dinosaurs??  Well...mine!  Rather, they like dinosaurs in books or t.v. shows, not in real life.  I have never moved so quickly through the dinosaur exhibit as I did that afternoon.  I'm not sure we even looked at anything, they were pulling my arm out socket trying to get out of there.  Next, I took them to the Hall of Life section of the museum. They get to have their own cards and play games, measure themselves, see how healthy they are for four...etc.  Upon entering, they both see the man climbing a mountain and totally freak!!  I guess seeing an actual body, without skin, was disarming for such little guys!  I think after that is when they decided they were ready to leave.  I was still trying to show them there were good things to look at.  All of the sections about different countries and regions of our own country feature animals, which my guys were appalled by..."so many dead ones.", I think is what Garhett told me!  Finally came our time to leave, they both fell asleep on the way home, probably exhausted from being frightened for so long.  I will take them back, like I said I love the museum, I will just give it a few more years.

Catching Up

So, we are still alive and breathing...just busy!  We have reached many milestones over the last month and had there been more room for pictures, that may have been all I posted on here!  If I was to put everything in order of importance starting with the least important and working our way up that would be awfully difficult, so I will begin with the most recent.  Last week our littlest lady, Addy or Boomba, graduated from kindergarten!!  It was hard to believe that she had already finished her first year of school.  She is really looking forward to being a first grader, which I am reminded of each day...could make for a long summer!  Also, Addy performed in her first dance recital.  Ballet and tap.  To say they were cute is the understatement of the year!  I could not get over how adorable those little girls were!  Alexys has finished her fifth grade year with wonderful grades and left her teacher with many memories...especially the questions Lexy asked during "Growing and Changing"!  Long story, if you call and ask we might tell you!!  Our Alexys is going to be a big sixth grader this fall and is ready for Outdoor Lab... in November!!  Nothing better than a mountain trip in November!  Brenden and Garhett and working on perfecting their fielding and becoming home run hitters, all in preparation for their Golden Glove awards and MVP's for batting! :)  They have already perfected the art of joke telling and throwing whatever they can find off the deck, so it's time to move forward.  Also, in case anyone forgot, we became parents to a teenager last month!   That milestone, to say the least, was so strange!  I never imagined ourselves being old enough to have a teenager!  However, we are two lucky parents to have the teen that we have!  Apes, not only made the honor roll, she is now an official National Junior Honor Society member, a member of her student leadership and recently played in a state volleyball tournament!  She is becoming a wonderful young adult!  I can hardly wait to see what awaits us in the future!!

Dear Apryl...

Today is the beginning of a new chapter for our family...our first teenager!  It is hard to sit here and type coherent words while my eyes are foggy with tears, which I knew would happen, but I want to try and explain just how much this child has changed my life!  I've been thinking all week how to put into words how I feel about Apryl, I started with many different scenarios.  Not being able to stick to just one, I have chosen a montage sort of approach.  To begin with, this amazing creature was brought into our world at exactly 12:16 a.m., May 11, 2000.  Apryl started off pushing boundaries, she was due the day before but waited just long enough to make it the next day...not to my pleasure, I assure you!  Many happy baby moments came from our little Apryl.  Chunky Monkey, wide open faced smiles, hurtling her new baby sister, wearing only cowgirl boots and undies, "I do it!", "My-Ami", and let's not forget that beautiful curly blond hair that became the envy of every senior citizen she met!  Apryls toddler years were just as fun.  She grew to love reading, very quickly.  I could find her in her closet reading a book or trying to take a book into the bathtub, which usually ticked her off when I said she had to leave it on the counter. She was especially attached to a National Geographic magazine about tornadoes, and she still has it!  Apes loved "Shrek", "Jurassic Park", and countless others that I can still say line for line!  Dinosaurs were her thing for quite some time.  Apryl has seen the inside of an E.R. more times than anyone needs to, including an ambulance ride.  To quote Uncle Ty, "That was the grossest thing I've ever seen!".  Not what a mother wants to hear over the phone! Matt and I have been more than lucky to have been given this gift of a child!  Apryl is witty, exceptionally smart, silly, generous, loving, and beautiful.  I could not have asked for anything more...seriously!  To be a part of her live everyday is an honor.  I love you so much Apes! Happy, Happy 13th Birthday!!  ~mom

A Little Bit of Growing...and Changing

Yesterday after picking Alexys and Addy up from school, I was quickly informed that Lexy's class had embarked on their "health" unit.  The topic of growing and changing has been on Lexys mind since she first started fifth grade back in August, as I'm sure it was for many other like minded fifth graders.  As we are waiting for Apryl, Alexys was telling me ALL about what she and her classmates learned that afternoon.  Most of which she was slightly embarrassed to talk at length about so I kept my inquiry short for her sake.  I did keep telling her that everything she is learning is very normal and happens to everyone at some point in their lives.  Today however, I was thinking about my run-of-the-mill answers and or replies, and though maybe I owe her a little more than, "it's normal", "we all go through it.".  I guess it comes down to how much she really wants to talk about this so called "sensitive" subject.  Our oldest girls know they can come to their dad and me about anything, but some things are much harder to talk about.  Apryl has always been more open to the idea of sharing her thoughts and opinions on every subject, Alexys on the other hand is more reserved--for the first time EVER!!  I don't have any issues talking with her about sex and how babies are made, but for her, just the thought of her mother saying the word sex makes her cringe!  She was somewhat appalled that yesterdays class started off with another child asking what breasts were.  I thought to myself, just wait until later, the questions get better, or worse depending on how you look at things!  Final note~~good luck to fifth grade teachers everywhere who are going through this unit right now!

Patience Test

pa·tience

/ˈpāSHəns/Noun

The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

Synonyms

forbearance - endurance - sufferance - solitaire

This definition pretty much sums it all up!  Looking at those five wonderfully bright, energetic, wholesome faces, one would never suspect they could warrant someone (mostly their mother) to want to pull out their hair!  There is absolutely NO spot in this house that is safe from a child finding me!  They have even discovered how to unlock a bathroom door!  Now, the locked door no longer means "stay out", it is a challenge of all challenges.  "I know she has to be in there doing something spectacular, why else would she want to keep everyone out??"...I imagine to be the context of their thought process after they try the door handle several times only to be rebuffed!  After numerous kicks, punches and objects thrown at the door have failed to open it, I can usually count on a barrage of questions.  "Mom, can I come in?", is the standard lead off, followed by, "why can't I come in?".  I will get a fair amount of pleading with little fingers plunged under the door jam trying their hardest to wave at me!  There are times that I am actually not doing anything but trying to get a moments peace! YES, in the da#n bathroom!  I have nowhere to hide, they have taken over!  :) Trouble really starts when they realize I have gone in there to make a phone call.  "Who are you talking to?", "I wanna say hi to grandma!!".  No one in their right mind wants to talk to a child they can hear over the phone and through a door!  I think these kiddos have grandparents who are humoring them for the sake of my sanity!  About this time is when things get quiet because their brains are working overtime to come up with a plan to spring me from my "sanctuary".  "Bye, gotta go.", I say to whoever I was talking with, in a rush to stop all hell from breaking loose!  When the door does finally open I can see they are not sure whether to cheer and hug me or run away and hide!  I keep reminding myself that one day they will all be gone and I will be allotted as much "me" time as I can stand, so I should be appreciating every moment.  Whatever!  I want just a small slice of that pie now and I don't think there is anything wrong with that!

Cardio Sleeping

I am aware that there are many parents who enjoy sharing their beds with their little ones, I don't happen to be one of them! I have no issues whatsoever taking a little guy into our bed after a bad dream or when they are not feeling well, but only for a while.  Two nights this week Brenden has wandered sleepily into our room and made his way smack center to the middle of our bed.  To get to the spot he wants inevitably requires him to "jungle gym" his mother!  By that I mean climb up the bed and over me at any cost! One strategically placed elbow to the side of face and  my hair used as a pulley, he can now begin to settle in.  Being the sweet little boy he is, he likes to hold my hand until he can get back to his slumber, this makes my heart melt, so he is allowed to stay.  I think he has figured that out!  Fast forward an hour or so, dad totally in a deep sleep---I know because I can hear how deeply he is sleeping, and Brendens Restless Leg Syndrome had started up!  After a few roundhouse kicks to the back I think about hog tying the boy!  I also wonder how the h#ll his father is still asleep!! *Breathe deep mom*  Thinking, partially lying on his karate kicking legs might help, I fall back asleep, only to be woken up just a short time later by a balled up left hook to the eye!  This was my last straw, now dad is awake and is ordered to return what is now just "his son" back to bed!  I think maybe we need a larger bed, maybe.  With the way he sleeps I don't feel any size bed would help.  Somehow, I end up sleeping on a portion of the bed the size of a toothpick!  My arms hang off the bed, I fight for the covers, the pillows, MY space totally violated!  Nap for mom is in order for this afternoon! :)

Snow Day!

After waiting all school year, my girls have finally gotten the snow day they have longed for!  I was preparing yesterday for the snow, so I did the grocery shopping and stocked up on kiddo friendly snacks!  We are set to bake chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes, and watch movies with plenty of popcorn and hot chocolate,  my favorite kind of day...also wearing pajamas all day is a must!  Since we found out last night before everyone was off to bed that school had been cancelled, the celebrating started early!  I was reading an email and announced there was going to be no school, and I swear the girls would have heard those words from next door~~~much different from the times when I ask them to sweep or take out some garbage while they are seated right next to me!  How ever the news was heard didn't matter in the end, they were full of joy!  The three of them were quickly making plans for the night, including "staying up late challenges".  In our house you can usually expect something random to be drawn on your face if you are the first to fall asleep!  This morning has been one of relaxation and calm.  They are using their day off to be leisurely, and soak in the opportunity to not do a thing!  Mom is taking advantage too...hence the reason I'm writing this in bed!! :) Anyway, I hope all the parents and kiddos are using this day to have fun and just be with one another.  To all the others who complain about the schools being closed, get lost!  There are so many factors that go into deciding to close our schools, not just the amount of snow we wake up to.  Icy, icy roads being a major factor, frigid temps, two very good reasons not to chance heading out with my most precious cargo in tow!

Busy Days

We are back to our warm weather schedule.  This is the time that not only bears and other animals come out of hibernation, so do the Morrison children. After our ever busy fall last year, I put everything on hold during the winter and had all the kiddos wait for spring.  It was a much needed break, and I'm anticipating another break is somewhere in our future.  We have Apryl in volleyball twice a week, Alexys has joined running club along with Addy.  Addysen starts ballet and tap dance tomorrow evening, while the boys are enjoying swimming lessons and getting ready to start baseball---which their dad is coaching!  The only thing that has yet to start is Lexy's acting class, I haven't found a time that works with the schedule, but I will! Matt and I both knew this time in our lives was inevitably on the brink, I could have never imagined just how busy I would be!  Simply filling out my calendar for the next few months was exhausting!  We all know if it's not on the calendar it won't happen!  Seven people live by that calendar, I freaked the other day when it wasn't where is usually is!  Not to worry, the calendar had just fallen down, it is back in it's rightful spot.  I laughed today when Matt asked when we might go camping! "Never" was my first thought, but I knew that would not fly with any of my family members, so, I probably need to put a camping trip on our calendar NOW!  Such is life with five kiddos!

Growing Up

It is amazing to me how we all say time goes quickly, then the day you realize it's true you are about to be a parent to a teenager!  Lexy is on her way to her last year of elementary school!  I can hardly imagine her in middle school, which will mean Apryl is starting high school...I could just cry!  Matt and I have truly been blessed with five amazing kiddos, but our oldest two girls are not just my kiddos any more.  We talk like girlfriends, hang out, go shopping, gossip.  There are still many things I choose to not share with them and save for my more mature audience, but I am having so much fun with them!  Apryl is giving me fashion advice, which I am really enjoying.  She reads Teen Vogue, and Seventeen, thinking I need to be doing the same things.  She will tell me my horoscope which she reads from a magazine, but no boy has revealed his crush on in quite some time so I don't put a lot of stock in it!  She did however help to lose the diaper bag purse and move on to greener pastures---literally!  I now have a much more stylish bright green purse which I love! She also encouraged me to buy my first pair of heels since lord knows when!  I honestly have no idea when I will wear them, but soon I hope!  Both girls are into make-up and nail polish, all these things have reminded me how much fun it is being a girl!!  I think being immersed in the world of raising little ones, I got busy doing things other than accessorizing.  Now that the children are slowly but surely becoming more and more self sufficient I can focus on me.  I have even been toying with the idea of taking some on-line photography classes.  Thanks to my girls for breathing a little life back in to their mom!!

Yes, I Love Technology....

It is amazing to me how well our five kiddos can traverse the world of technology.  I realize I am not ancient by any means but, the stuff these peeps are capable of far outweighs anything I can do!  I was just talking the other night about taking typing in junior high school...which I am always corrected is now middle school!  I think typing and a few computer classes were the extent of my technological background upon graduating high school.  Our three girls have been immersed in the technology world since kindergarten.  Apryl and Alexys have been doing student led conferences by power point since second grade!!  They have made brochures, done research papers, not to mention the countless book reports and numerous short stories they have written all on the computer.  More often than not, their work needs to be typed in order to be turned in.  This does not include the gaming devices and phones they are using each day.  Which brings me to our boys!  They can very easily make their ways through the world wide web (with parental blocks in place)!  They enjoy Hot wheels.com, Nickjr.com, and watching funny animal videos on YouTube!  Addy is a big fan of Barbie.com and monsterhigh.com.  She too can navigate her way to any sight she likes!  All three of our youngest kiddos can work the Wii, the DVD player along with the one in the car, the play station and VCR---yes, we still have one, and dad's pride and joy the TV.  Now when I am having difficulty getting the TV to do what I want, I ask Garhett or Brenden.  They know which input the TV needs to be on for whatever we are trying to do!  I was a little ashamed when Garhett yelled at me while I was trying to get the Wii started for them a while ago..."Mom! It's HDMI #4!!!".  Yikes!  I am happy to stick with what I am familiar with.  Typing!  If I need to figure out how to download Angry Birds I will ask one of our four year old boys!

Enjoying Being Beautiful

Each night we sit down to dinner as a family.  Keep in mind I use the word "sit" loosely!  However, many a conversation has been had at our kitchen table.  Topics usually range from who did what at school, silly jokes the boys have learned, asking dad over and over how his day at work was, making sure mom had a decent day as well.  Each evening is filled with as much laughter as noise.  The noise level can get so unbelievably loud that I am thinking about having Tylenol as one of my side dishes!  There are also the occasions where our youngest daughter says the cutest things just out of the blue.  A few days ago I noticed Addy was fairly quiet for a Morrison child so I asked her if she was alright.  She replied with, "I'm fine mommy, I'm just enjoying being beautiful!".  This statement made everyone smile.  Her older sisters repeated those few words to each other in jest, but I think it made them feel good too.  It was a pure and honest incite to how good she feels about herself!  Addy is our most soft spoken kiddo.  She enjoys her reading corner, which she also watches movies in, but the alone time is big deal for her.  Addysen likes to ponder things, and is a deep thinker even for five.  Just to hear her say something so cute and wonderful is all the reason I need to make certain sitting down together to eat is something that happens every night.  I wouldn't want to miss anything!!

Just Being Boys

I admit it may have taken me just over four years to figure out how to photograph our boys, but over the weekend I tried some new tricks...and they worked!!  First off, look at those wonderful smiles!!  I did not get those by asking them to once again say "cheese".  They are laughing and smiling so awesomely because I told them to call each other dorks!  They would get into their usual poses and boringly say cheese like good boys, but to no avail my picture would be less than stellar.  Saturday I said, "call your brother a dork!", they laughed hysterically and mom got priceless smiles!  It was a win win situation.  I would take this silly, fun, natural looking photo any day over a forced smile picture.  I already have plenty of those!  Scouting for new places to take pictures is half the fun.  Olde Town Arvada has some wonderful places to use as backdrops, and I plan very soon to make my mom come with me to help take more pictures of my five favorite subjects!  Let's just hope "dork" holds out for a while before I have to use "dumbass"!!  :)

Visiting Great Grandpa

The boys and I try to make it to visit my grandfather at least once a week.  He is in the Alzheimer's unit of a nursing home.  He is very comfortable there and seems to enjoy himself.  Each visit is a unique experience.  Garhett and Brenden are convinced that great grandpa lives at his doctors house.  They like to help themselves to the snacks that are available for the residents, which I think they earn due to the numerous other residents that approach them.  Our boys are often asked if they are twins on every trip there.  To which they reply...NOTHING!!  They don't choose to converse with anyone other than grandpa.  Today, a lady named Pat was trying to tickle Garhett and as she crept closer and closer in her wheelchair, he moved farther and farther away. If he could have climbed inside my shirt to hide from her, he would have.  They were throwing an exercise ball back and forth and hit a few people in the back of their head just a few times!  Lucky for the boys that most of the people they hit were asleep and if they had been awake probably wouldn't remember what had happened.  Visiting grandpa is new adventure each time as well.  They have been offered money to help certain residents escape, they have been asked if they can help people get up, I heard one nice lady ask them if they knew what was for dinner.  Most of the other residents seem to be happy just watching the boys play.  It must come from a place in their minds that holds the memories of their own youth.  Remembering those distant memories must make them happy.  I see them sitting with smiles on their faces and hear them say goodbye to the boys as they pass by.  Taking a couple of four year olds to what most people see as a final stage in ones life allows a little bit of life to breeze back in, even if only an hour at a time.  I sit and listen to them tell me stories of twins they knew, or how they are a twin themselves.  The boys bring back memories of their own children.  Garhett and Brenden do much more than play...I think I'll keep that part a secret!

Picture Perfect

Not every picture is perfect.  I have a particularly difficult time getting what I feel is an acceptable picture due to the fact that I have more than the average number of people in each shot.  Our girls have become pros at sitting and smiling for the camera, the boys on the other hand are still testing the waters, especially Brenden!  B-Man has an amazing smile and not to mention the cutest little face, but lately all I get from him is his mouth wide open with his tongue sticking out!  I do enjoy a silly picture every now and again, I even encourage it, how can you not with five kiddos?  All I need is one with EVERYONE looking at ME one time!  That is like pulling teeth, or so I would imagine.  The boys like to look at the pictures and see themselves looking crazy or hitting one another, turning around to show me their bottoms, putting their shirts over the others brothers head, pushing or pulling Addys' hair, you name it!  A picture where they are just sitting nicely with their arms around each other is boring and basically a figment of my imagination!  It is quite a challenge to get a picture with two little boys waving at you and running back and forth.  I guess they forgot who their mommy is, because I am up for that challenge!

Naughty Words

There has been a increase in bad language around our house recently.  Our boys have picked up a bad habit of calling each other names that are not too nice.  Dumbass is definitely their favorite go-to insult for just about every situation.  I'll admit, I agree with them more often than I should, however, that does not make it okay.  It's obvious where they may be picking up this type of language, so I am doing all I can to say four letter words in my mind only!  Don't get me wrong, it's not as if I have the mouth of a trucker, but once in a while nothing seems to fit better than something my little ones maybe shouldn't hear.  For example, the bloody nose from being elbowed by my son, situation.  S#*T felt really good then...darn just would not have cut it!  There is also another level to their "dirty" mouths.  They have become mildly obsessed with pee and poop, only the words!!  Every punch line to every joke they tell ends with pee or poop.  "Knock, knock" jokes always end up with mom saying, "poop who?". This sets them off laughing and laughing.  I have instilled a new rule because of all the mayhem.  I have told the boys that this is "bathroom talk", they can talk about anything they desire as long as they are in the bathroom.  It's working somewhat so far.  I can hear them screaming the "naughty" from down the hallway..."PEE!!!"  I only hope I can curb this attraction to ugly words before school starts!

Our Favorite Things

Every child while living home at one time or another starts to share in his or her parents likes and dislikes.  As seen in the picture my kiddos have chosen wisely!  It could also have something to do with the fact that I put away the laundry and they seem to only find their Bronco gear come game day!  HA HA!  Besides, the blue and orange brings out the color of their eyes.  Anyway, lets be honest, they do know a winner when they see one.  These kiddos had a much better time cheering on Peyton than they did the "phish".  Just ask Alexys, who tried all season long to bring spirit to her dad's beloved team.  Each week she watched the Dolphins suit up and jog on to the field only to watch them hang their heads an hour later while walking back to the locker room.  The rest of our gang was at home with mom watching our new hall of fame quarterback take us to the playoffs!!  This next season is going to be as promising for us Bronco fans, not so sure what to say about the other guys.  Maybe this off-seaon their QB can learn the other teams in his division!  Love you Mattie~

Dare Devils!!

After having three girls and getting to know how they work, it has been a daily adventure to get to know our boys!  There is not much they are fearful of.  Hurting themselves is the least of their worries!  Last night I turned on some music for "dance time" which lasted for about three minutes, Addy was quite unhappy with such a limited amount of dance time!  Her brothers felt the music was more for riding their motorcycles through the house.  They then encouraged one another to jump off the bikes, stand on them, push each other while standing on them, jump from one to the other, so on and so on!!  Inevitably, the biggest boy in the house also thought this was a fun idea, and sharing in their enthusiasm for dangerous activities went ahead and helped them create new stunts!  If Matt could have found a way to help flip backward off their bikes he would have!  He was enjoying his role as stunt coordinator which means I get to to enjoy my role as nurse!  If last night was any indicator of what is to come, I will need a good heart surgeon because this is a heart attack in the making!

It Runs in the Family

Recently Alexys was chosen to play a coveted roll in her 5th grade play about colonial times, then she ended up playing a young boy!  Anyhow, she embraced the role change with grace and dignity!  She ended up playing "Jackie" who was supposedly George Washington's son, maybe from his maid not sure...just kidding!  Lexy was so funny in her role as Jackie, she received many compliments from other theater goers and much praise from grandparents!  It was nice to watch her having so much fun on the stage, it was like second nature to her.  I had the fortunate opportunity of rehearsing lines with her and finding a costume, so I guess you could say she couldn't have done it without me!!  I look forward very much to the next play and in the meantime she is taking some acting classes to keep herself well oiled in the acting craft!

It's About Time!

Having been gone for some time now, it would simply take too long to go over everything that has happened since I last wrote.  My goal is to once again write posts a few times a week, given my children are able to provide me with enough material!  :)  It was probably good we were gone during the holidays. Our family was hit HARD with virus after virus after virus.  Not something everyone wants to hear about over and over.  Our boys have turned four, Alexys lost another tooth, Addy had to move her pin in class due to excessive talking, and Apryl is closing the gap in height with her mother!!  I imagine a time when I may be the shortest person in the house!  Writing this first blog after such a long time I a reminded why it takes so long to get out only a few paragraphs...my boys!  One has an empty soda box on his head while the other is calling him a "trash monster" and hitting him repeatedly with a pillow!  No quiet time for mom...one can dream!
